Natural Living Gifts for Her this Christmas
It’s Christmas! A time for carols, eating too much, drinking our body weight and presents… oh the presents. You see for the females of the human species, present buying is usually a well planned and executed process of lists, laybys and wrapping paper management techniques that would make any project management guru proud – who knew you couldn’t use the same paper for everybody???.
For many of us however, Christmas presents are a simply an annoying inkling that sits in the back of our minds until Christmas eve. Don’t believe me? Go to any shopping mall on Christmas eve and you will see a long procession of nervous looking men trying to remember every hint that they had ignored throughout the year. So with the aim of giving my fellow man a break, I have created a list of natural living gifts that you can purchase right here and have delivered to your door just in time for Christmas – if you are lucky, some of them might even come wrapped!
Before we start, and in the interests of mansperancy, all of the products in this post contain codes that will make me a commission if you purchase them. These commissions do not increase your price and in some cases save you some cash. For more information, please see my disclaimer page.
Now, let the shopping begin!

If she is already a collector and user of essential oils, let her experiment with some particularly lady-like aromas and recipes with a satchel of feminine essential oils. Apologies for the really girly wording here but remember we are channeling our non-useless side here. My – ok, my wife’s – top 5 suggestions include:
Ylang Ylang – An essential oil with a rich floral scent perfect for rubbing on the wrists and neck to leave a calming, floral fragrance. It is also good for mixing with coconut oil for a deep-conditioning hair treatment or an addition to a hot bath to create a relaxing atmosphere to help you unwind after a long day.
Geranium – Steam distilled from the fragrant flowers to produce a sweet floral scent. Diffuse for a comforting aroma or add to a neutral moisturiser and apply morning and night to create the appearance of healthier-looking skin. You can also combine with oils such as Lavender and Ylang Ylang in a hot bath to create a rich, luxurious aroma.
Jasmine – This essential oil has a rich, sultry aroma that is alluring and romantic. Rub a few
drops onto wrists or the nape of the neck or add to an unscented moisturiser and massage onto skin for an empowering, confidence-boosting personal fragrance. Include 5–10 drops to your evening bath for a calming, spa-like experience.
Cypress – An essential oil for the more spiritually minded, this one has a herbaceous, fresh and woody scent to promote spiritual harmony and growth. It can also be added to a
n odourless moisturiser to enhance the complexion
Lavender – If she is an avid user of oils chances are that this one is already in the kit but as it is likely to be well-used! So, with this oil we are going for the “Oh awesome, I was just about to order some more of this!” factor. In fact, I am not even really going to bother outlining all of the uses for this essential oil all as she will know then already I am sure.
Just after a diffuser? I can help you there with some good links as well.
Diffusers utilise a number of methods from ultrasonic technology to simple fans to break up the mixture of essential oils and water into fine micro particles. They then disperse them into the air to add aroma and affect mood within the household or workplace. Like anything though, there are definite differences in quality and functionality when it comes to choosing a good diffuser. I do recommend staying away from the really cheap ones however that is not to say that there are not some good cost effective diffusers out there, you just need to be a bit careful. Here are some things to look for as a minimum:
- Auto shut off – this is a must. This means that when the diffuser runs out of water, it switches itself off.
- Reach – most diffusers will let you know what area size it can reach. Important to check if you are planning to put it in a large room or work space.
- Sound – some can be quite loud – which gets annoying very quickly – if it is cheap and has a fan unit for dispersement, chances are it will hum.
- Dispersement settings – most come with low, medium or high – I recommend having this setting due to the fact that some oils can be overpowering on high settings. These settings can also determine how long a diffuser will work for before it runs dry.
- Timers – Again, quite a good feature that allows you to set and forget – very good if you are busy or in party mode!
Many diffusers come with some increased kit, including:
- Colour displays – the diffuser can change colour as it disperses those lovely feminine scents (we are buying for her remember) – some even have other video screens to allow waterfall and raindrop features.
- Remote controls – now I have your mantention don’t I!
- Music – Some have inbuilt music or melodies to enhance the aromatic experience. The higher end models even have a USB port that turns them into portable speakers as well.
Now all we need to do is invent one with a beer tap and we are set!
Here are some links to diffusers that I recommend. First up are the more economical models – they all contain the minimal specs outlined above at a reasonable price:
Young Living also has a great range of premium diffusers available – granted they are a little more costly than those above, but they are high quality and come with all of the basic and premium features. We have had cheaper ones in the past but now we have the Desert Mist model, we will never look back!
Essential Oil Accessories
Oh yeah, there are accessories, I mean of course there are. Use these as stocking stuffers or to enhance her current collection.

Now if you really want to score some good brownie points, I highly recommend the Oil Dispensing Massager. This is a first-of-its kind product that combines the benefits of any three of your favourite essential oils with a comforting massage.
Finally, if you have been listening to any of her hints throughout the year, see below for other accessories that might tickle her fancy:
Himalayan Salt Lamps and Products
In my previous post on the benefits of Himalayan rock salt, I highlighted some very feminine benefits that you might be able to adapt to a thoughtful gift – I know, I tried to make them manly at the time, but we all know I was struggling hey!
Let’s start with Salt Lamps. These are the perfect gift for her for the following reasons:
- They are pretty
- They are calming
- They look nice
- They purify the air
- They are a good light level for setting the mood
Anyway, I really don’t have much more to add here than I didn’t talk about in my previous posts so here are the links:
Next is the salt bath – I haven’t partaken myself but my wife swears by them. The benefits of a salt bath include:
- Relaxation and stress relief
- Easing of muscle cramps, aches and pains
- Cleanse the skin
- Soothe bites and stings
Also, how good would this bath be with the addition of a well-placed essential oil diffuser? hint hint! Anyway – get your salt bath needs here.
Ok, I feel this section should come with a disclaimer – I was heading on a boys trip overseas recently to play golf in Las Vegas when I noticed a duty-free shop at the airport that was selling all of the makeup that my wife loves! In an effort to be a good husband I wandered in and bought her some foundation, lipstick and eye blush. When I got home and proudly handed them over, the first question I got asked was “How did you know the right codes to get me?” Codes? there are codes?. Needless to say I didn’t get the right ones and onto EBay they went. So, disclaimer – I can lead you to the links, but if you don’t do your research, I cannot be held accountable – you have been warned.
Anyway, if she is into natural makeup, I have you covered. There are lots of them and I admit to having done no research here. I know I have let you down and I should have taken more notice in the past but just remember, there are codes and not all beige is the same!
Now there are no excuses – but you had better get moving as Christmas is almost here. All of the products chosen here have a delivery turnaround of under a week so you still have time. I know, I should have posted this earlier in the month but in true male fashion, I got distracted and only really thought about it once I had to start preparing for a gift of my beautiful wife. Otherwise, I will see you at the mall on Christmas eve…
Have fun and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
